Quilt Preparation Hints & Tips
.) Be sure to carefully press both the front and the back. All seams should be flat and pressed to one side or open. Clip all loose threads.
.) Your backing and batting should be at least 6" inches larger than the quilt top in both length and width.
.) Square up the top, batting & backing. All four sides need to be straight for best results.
.) Borders should be flat. Measure and apply your borders carefully as "ripply" borders cause tucks, pleats and fullness that can't be "quilted out".
.) Backing should be pressed and seams sewn at 1/2"inch and pressed open. Salvages need to be trimmed as they create extra tension in the seam.
.) Don't use sheets or polyester fabric for the back.
.) Do not baste or pin quilt together. Simply fold the top, back & batting separately.
.) I cannot quilt over embellishments. Please wait to add these after quilting.
